>impolite to refuse< by claude young remade and remixed by santiago salazar and esteban adame as ican. originally released in 1996, >impolite to refuse< immediately inspired the future members of ican. it had that detroit techno soul with latinized bass and percussion, even before knights of the jaguar, claude youngs masterpiece had won us over. also included on this release are two new versions of >impolite to refuse<. esteban adame and santiago salazar did their homework to recreate the strings, bass and then added their own inspired twists for the ican remake. esteban adame slows it down to 118 bpm for a latin funk jam on his deep mix.

the second gotwax! ep is a slamming longsided club two-tracker with detroit- and dub-flavoured raw-body-music. the future as it used to be! both tracks come from our new artist obsoletetechnology.

after all efforts were put into jacob korns debut album during summer 2012 uncanny valley strikes back with namesake jacob stoy and his very first solo ep after his s51 for the uv010-compilation. everything starts with redensart, a sunny piece of music with a sneaky bassline and easy synth pads that come across like a warm rain shower: its house in the end but feels like so much more. hauswart is an impressive example of how one can create a whole atmosphere of sound within two minutes. its short but feels so comfortable that you really like it to go on and on forever. start is maybe the most conventional deep house track on the ep and seduces with catchy synth chords and thrilling drums. finally gegenwart brings things to a jazzy end with tipsy synths and tripping percussions. the artwork comes from none other than jacobs father olaf stoy, who is a painter, lyricist and porcelain designer still working in jacobs hometown rabenau near dresden.

despite the advent and cari lekebusch being two of the most enduring names in techno, the release of sonic intervention is the most high profile product to date of a working relationship that has that has spanned almost the entire history of techno. something of a landmark for all concerned, not only is it the first full-length album from the advent since 2005 s t.r.i.n.i.t.y long player for berlin s tresor records but for h-productions and its founder, the project is the highlight thus far of the labels resurgent release schedule. as lekebusch commented, to have known and respected cisco and his music or so long it was of course a great moment to get to release this album. the blend of old and new styles with high caliber the advent production has created a strong album with depth and variety that i think new and old fans alike will really enjoy .

omega male could conceivably be described as a supergroup, a transatlantic duo featuring david best of brighton minimalist kraut-funk outfit fujiya & miyagi and sammy rubin of brooklyns digital rock band project jenny, project jan. the combination is an inspired one – laptop sex music played by two white dudes.

a fistful of wax is an extension for some very special projects of our beloved deep house skylax records sub – label wax classic. for this first release, we give you the opportunity to grab 5 fantastic trax done by some of the best deep house producers at the moment. a1 is done by the great girogio luceri whose been releasing some very hot tunes through jamal moss mathematics & runaways on the prowl labels. a2 is done by jamie trench one of the new hot producer made in london, his track sound very very garage & we loved it instantly. while on the b side we have again 3 bomb tracks featuring first on b1 jackmaster k who delivers clearly an anthem, it reminds us some of best house music made in uk (circa 91/92), this track could have been played by sasha & digweed or carl cox at shoom ! b2 is marcoradi , an italian producer who teamed up with the great nicholas on one his 4lux release. he also produced many remixes (erykah badu ect ...) & some 12 inches over the years. b3 is rio padice from rawax & housewax fame those tracks are all firmly rooted into the deep house sound (check the detroitian vibes of get back). they never settle into one comfortable, predictable groove. its heady, emotion-rich grooves include warm, melodic two-step and future garage flavas, dubwise slo-mo grooves. its eclectic, no doubt, but thanks to those guys warm production and heavy deep vocals, this release will put your hands up in the air marvellously.

two previously unreleased mixes of >tonite< by aaron fit siegel, with vocals by lrenee. the o.g. mix is a version fit started working on to be a dub version of >tonite - original mix<, but morphed into something a bit more epic, and due to time constraints could not make it on the initial release. the d.d. version, is based on the original demo track fit wrote before any vocals were recorded, then edited and dubbed out by omar-s. if you liked the original release on fxhe, be sure to have this one as well and if you dont have the original release then you better get that one too!

arttu is back on royal oak after his critically acclaimed nuclear funk / get up of it release late 2011. another split single featuring two detroit jazz and funk vocalists. the female poet diamondancer on tune in and the his buddy from jerry the cat on move! arttu smoothly blends his roots in the best house traditions with contemporary influences on these two tracks. recommended!!

the oliverwho factory on dolly! the mysterious duo from detroit (madd chaise inc, planet e) delivers a relentless techno/house workout in two versions, with all trademark oliverwho elements present including soulful vocals. raw, deep, funky, soulful, futuristic... in other words: detroit techno as it should be. hot & rocking release!

this twentieth 3024 release is by my friend trevino. i am particularly proud to put this out because it was trevino (aka marcus intalex), who signed my very first tracks and gave me my break back in 2005 (a 12 inch called get down on his label revolve:r). in the last two years he has started taking his techno more seriously, writing new tracks at a very fast pace. i am glad people are taking notice of his music cos he is the real deal and it was tough picking tracks for this release cos he is making so many! ultimately we chose four that would clearly showcase marcus different sides and styles. so, seven years after my >get down<, i am proudly presenting the mighty trevino with his >tactical manoeuvre ep<.

a real treat up next for you on apple pips, coming from talented plymouth based beatsmith phat chex … phat chex aka ben pooley came to apple pips attention through the dj/promoter necta selecta, who was repping chex beats at the legendary subheavy parties. when necta dropped >git da funk<, it was a case of >who the ruddy heck is this by?!<. a friendship was struck up, and tune swapping has resulted in these two beauties being dropped on wax. a versatile producer who sums up the current bass scenes openminded attitude to genres and influences, chex is at home making deep electro, heads down techno, smokey jazzed out house, or post whatever bass music.

tom tragos voyage direct series welcomes another new amsterdam artist to its roster. this time it is the up and coming mpc lord overlast, who debuts on the label with a killer two tracker!

the next catalog number presents you two berlin artists– jonn melchiat & k.atou. both are not unknown in the business. so k.atou already collaborated with labels like bpitch control, einmaleins musik or resopal. jonn melchiat who made himself a name with the pseudonym sonceboz, decided now to focus on his project jonn melchiat and releases beside on the label what now becomes, an ep on sono vivo.
